The one, the only, the greatest… White Lion Beer Festivals
Well we think so anyway! Since 2005 we’ve been hosting beer festivals with our good mates at the White Hart Tap with the aim of finding the best ales Britain has to offer. As dedicated brewers continually produce new snifters, we simply have to keep running another event to try them out. To date we’ve showcased almost 250 British real ales, ciders and perries and are keenly looking forward to this year’s offers.
With the Beer Festival weekends combining beer tasting, music and children’s entertainment – there’s something for everyone. All musicians who play at our events are generous enough to donate their fees to the year’s nominated charities. More money is raised from our BBQ and donations from you thirsty punters. Each year we raise about £1,000 that goes to deserving causes. Even if you’re not a real ale enthusiast (eek!) supporting your local charity is a good enough reason to come along.
To ensure the spirt of the day doesn’t get too carried away, we also fire up the BBQ and offer an unusual selection of grilled delights from around the world. In 2010, our South African bangers were a particular hit and for the 2011 August bank holiday weekend we showcased the best of British meat with lamb, venison and pork BBQ roasts.
Lion-Hart 2011 August Beer Festival
The 2011 White Lion August Beer Festival was held over the August bank holiday weekend. Great beers and ciders were sold in the huge beer tent in the gardens of the White Lion and White Hart Tap. We fired up the BBQ for a fantanstic different roast each day of the bank holiday weekend:
- Saturday – venison
- Sunday – lamb
- Monday – pork
And there was more! On Monday music the charity Lion-Hart music festival ran throughout the afternoon and early evening with all bands generously donating their fees towards our great chosen charities: Help for Heros and Beating Bowel Cancer.
Everyone who came along had a great weekend celebrating fabulous British beer, fab food, great music and good times! Check out the photo gallery to prove it.
